Dhoni & Co.
Its hard but reality that we couldn't make it to the semi-finals of the WC, when we started as favourites and the defending champions.
As it happens always, the team, the captain who were stars a few days back are now the subject for post-martem for every Tom, Dick and Harry. Everyother news channel is firing them, and especially Dhoni.
Are they the only ones responsiblefor this ?
How should they be made realised in a subtle manner ?
Why so much hue and cry over Dhoni ?
Look at it from their perspective, they are also humns afterall, everybody makes mistake, or rather has right to do so in order to learn. If one expects them to be always doing the right thing, then its mistake on our part and not theirs.
Although cricket is religion in India, and to an extent cricketers are reverred like God. But tis does not discount the fact that they are humans at the end of day.
Adding to that is the success and fatigue they have been through in past few months. They are bound to be complacent, which the root cause of any failure. And thats not the end of it, they will learn from it and rise again to their potential. Its all a cyclic process and just need time.
We humans are known for mistakes and erronous behaviour in all our senses, what to say about guys buried neck deep in success.
Coming to Dhoni, ofcourse he is to be blamed and held accountable for this disastorous performance. But this does not mean that he is stripped off his captaincy. The aftermath should always be constructive rather than punishiment oriented.
Yes, he has made mistakes, but it does not mean he is not sincere to his primary job. His off-field activities can't be held responsible for on-field performace.
What we Indians need to understand is that its just a game and India cannot always win it. We should be open enough to take it in the spirit of game and not the matter of life and death :-)

Its cyclical...quite true but we tend to be at the trough of the cycle when we need it the most...isn't it? Barring T20WC'07 we have been doing this all the time.
IPL is no excuse...others who played in IPL have continued their tremendous performance.
Off the field activities shouldn't matter? I guess they should. Like you said being a Human we expect him to do only a limited number of "stuff" simultaneously. Not sure if the number of ads that we've seen featuring Dhoni lately is more than runs scored by him ;)
