DevD
Its Different :-)......
Ok, I must admit before I write anything about this mmovie, I am a big fan of Abhay Deol (the only sensible person in the current league of Deol's).
DevD is a nicely made movie by Anurag Basu. Yes, it does share the character names and their relationships similar to the previous 3 versions, but no doubt this one is full of high spirited entertainment. The other were (first 2) were of different genre, they were classic peace of art.
But this one, is nothing but full time pass, and the best part is that this one ends on a totally different note, something which would have been totally unacceptable few decades back !!!
Coming back to the cast, Dev, Paro, Chanda all three have done their job beautifully, and Paro is the finding of the movie :-)....
This movie has gone past the limits set by other movies in terms of boldness, other movies used to have skin show on the name of boldness, but this one didn't had much of the video aspect, but the audio version was really something that no other hindi movie had till now. Ofcourse it did get A certificate for it.
This movie is meant for GenX, old age people won't appreciate this at all, mostly because this culture wasn't there in their young days and also they don't want this type of culture to prosper ( i am not generalising it, but it would be the view of masses). By saying this I do not say that I am party to what all movie shows about GenX, but again it will be foolish to say that these things aren't there in today's society. But the point to note is that its the choice that individual makes and right or wrong is very subjective, and moreover everyone has right to it.
Guess diverted enough from the topic, coming back to the movie, Abhay Deol rocks in the movie. He has got that acumen which is very uncommon amongst other actors. His choice movies has been amazing. I won't mind him rating next to Aamir in terms of his acting and movie selections skills. Aamir should better watch out :-).
Both of the leading ladies acted well and Mahie Gill (Paro) looks amazingly beautiful, a very typical of Punjabi girls :-)....
On the whole a good entertaining movie. If you haven't seen it yet, then just go for it :-)
