India Premier League
I am definitely not a big fan of the concept, especially in the time of recession, when thousands are loosing jobs and not only because their roles have become redundant in the company, but also because companies are using downturn as a shield for shedding of extra resources that they have recruited just to make numbers. Its like someone recruits for completing his or her own transactional targets and not thinking of enterprise first. And when cyclic things like recession is witnessed, poor employees like us have to face the axe. Any ways, that can be a totally different post on which I can try my skills (:D) later, but as of now I'll focus back on IPL.
Yes, so IPL, a concept which could have been revisited with different approach this year, just for the sake of what is ging around, I mean the lavishness, the financials of the same.
Any ways, keeping all its negatives aside, what makes me adore IPL is the perseverence, the persistence, the hard work, the never say die attitude of the teams and on top of all the leadership qualities of few guys, the likes of Warne, Kumble, and Gilchrist.
What Warne and Co did in the last IPL is totally commendable, coming from the least favourites, they just went on winning and winning. No big stars to start with, all newcomers or laggers but immensely talented guys. Warne has taught what otherwise is missing in many self proclaimed leaders/managers. This is true everywhere in life, its what we call 'Respect' for people, everything cmes out of it. When you respect the fellow human being, when you confidence in someone, the guys can do wonders. But unfortunately this 'respect' is very much missing in our country especially.
You take it any aspect of common man's life, we have become so mechanical, the 'human touch' has gone missing.
I am not talking about respect among friends, peers, thats all very fine. It becomes crucial then there is difference of levels.
One must observe the arrogance and carelessness that is apparent on the roads, no one wants to spare one extra minute to let someone else pass by, but at the same time are ready to fight for half an hour advocating once fault. Pathetic.
Look at how workers(construction) are treated by contractors, they are nothing more than a machine to them. They are treated like objects.
The scene is not very different in many corporate offices.
Again went little off track, yes so the point was that its all about Leadership that does the miracles.
I am not sure if what I scribbled here makes any sense or not, but I just wanted to write something, its been such a long time :-).
