Daring Me, Fastest Me.......FOOLISH Me

Before writing anything about 26th July I would like to mention that I never completed a single crossy in my first year and hence need not to mention about the rest of the years.
Getting back to the dreadfull but adventurous evening of my life.
It was 1830 hrs when I started my journey after consulting someone who was so called "familier with mumbai rains".
It was 3 of us, at that time, before we started it had already rained for 5-6 hrs and it looked like it has reached the maxima and it won't rain more than this. We were at Dadar(W) and the there was water everywhere, no vehicles on the road and none on the tracks either.
Now it was very obvious that why should we start when eveything around was drowned and a person of my height i.e. around 6 ft will be drowned upto knees, but then that "mumbai familier" guy jumped in and said that we'll go to Dadar(E), since Dadar(W) is low lying area its flooded here and we'll be safe there and could hire some auto/taxi for our way back to home. So this was the argument which made us start for a night long journey.
So finally we stepped out of the building that waded our way through knee height water to the bridge connecting Dadar(W) to Dadar(E). Things were fine so far, since we were believing that we'll face less water in Dadar(E).
BUT, as soon as we crossed the bridge we found ourselves in midst of a mini ocean with water raised upto thighs. But still we didn't lose our hopes of getting out of water and reaching "land". We kept on marching and reached Eastern Express Highway. Things were no better there either, water was almost at the same level and on top of it started raining again. Now it was water everywhere...
It was completey different scene there, the Highway which are known for fast moving vehicle was occupied by pedestrians and all the vehicles were standstill and only thing moving was "the TRAIN". Nopes it is not the EMU that is in your mind, it was the train of people walking along the Highway in file of 2 or 3. Some alone, some with colleagues, and some with families which included small children as well as senior citizens, all trying to reach home safely. And worst part of it was the terminals of their journey, many of them have started from VT and just imagine where they were headed to....Kalyan...
Now I don't understand how people get so much of courage.
Anyways, we were on our way and after crossing Dadar we were heading to Matunga before which we again passed through a flooded area with knee high water level, and now it was no going back situation and also we were quite comfortable with that water level. We could see peolpe watching us from their windows, and almost all the ground floor were drowned in most of the buildings on the road side. It was like passing through a huge "Open Channel" where sides were made up of concrete block (here buildings) and we were like dust particles getting eroded in flow of water.
More in next part...
